PK Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in the Gateshead area. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Implement individualised education and behaviour plans.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with autism is essential.
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting learning and development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential – experience and passion are key.
