SEND Teacher – Primary (Temporary to Permanent)
Location: North & West Leeds Area
Start Date: January
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Pay: £150 – £220 per day
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEND Teacher to support primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional learning needs. The role involves teaching and supporting pupils both in-centre and through outreach to mainstream settings, helping them engage positively with learning, develop self-regulation, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to SEND and SEMH pupils
• Plan and implement personalised learning strategies and interventions
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
• Work collaboratively with support staff, SENDCo, and external agencies
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, and interventions
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Job Requirements
• Qualified teacher status (QTS)
• Experience teaching pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs
• Strong behaviour management and restorative practice skills
• Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
• Willingness to work across primary settings in the North & West Leeds area
