Senior Science Technician

PK Education are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Science Technician to join a busy and successful Science department at one of our partner schools. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Science Technician looking to step up into a senior role, or for someone already in a senior position seeking a fresh challenge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Science Technician team and manage the day-to-day running of the school’s science laboratories.
• Prepare, maintain, and organise equipment, chemicals, and resources for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including COSHH regulations and risk assessments.
• Support teaching staff in delivering engaging and safe practical sessions.
• Manage stock levels, order new resources, and maintain accurate inventories.
• Provide guidance and training to junior technicians where required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Science Technician, ideally at senior or supervisory level.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory practice and health and safety procedures.
• Ability to support practical lessons confidently across all science disciplines.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
