KS1 Teaching Assistant Required

Are you a passionate teaching assistant ready for your next adventure providing support to pupils at a fantastic school bursting with opportunity?

This exciting and rewarding KS1 Teaching Assistant role is a perfect opportunity to join a highly desirable team of staff passionate about working with young pupils.  The right individual must hold a relevant qualification and have experience working in primary education and/or early years.

This great opportunity is to start after Easter, full-time at a brilliant, welcoming primary school in Central Leeds. You will be working at the school long-term for the remainder of the academic year, with the opportunity to take on a permanent contract with the school.

KS1 Teaching Assistant responsibilities and duties:

You will be required to support pupils in groups and on a 1-1 basis within the class setting. You will be expected to support the development and learning of pupils both academically and socially.

You will be expected to adhere to the school’s policies and procedures and work alongside the class teacher to help pupils fulfil the goals and targets set in place.

You will be resilient in your attitude yet you will take a nurturing approach to the pupils you will be working with. You must build trusting and positive relationships with pupils with increases engagement and supports their unique needs.  

To be considered for the KS1 Teaching Assistant role you should have:

• Experience of working in schools – preferably within a primary school setting.
• Experience and Knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
• Experience working with SEND is advantageous.
• A patient, dedicated and resilient nature.
• The ability to quickly build strong, positive relationships with staff, students and parents.
• Any SEND training or qualifications are advantageous but not essential; we are mainly looking for someone with relevant experience and the right personality.

• Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online, PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
