Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant (Supply)

About the Role

PK Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Secondary Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis in a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Rotherham.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people aged 11–16 and are looking for flexible work within education.

As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ learning, wellbeing, and development across a range of subjects and year groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students
• Assist students with additional learning needs, including SEN and SEMH where required Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Prepare learning materials and resources as directed by teaching staff
• Promote inclusion and ensure all students can access the curriculum
• Support students during exams, practical activities, and interventions S
• upervise pupils during break times where required
• Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

Job Requirements

1. Previous experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience desirable)
2. A genuine passion for working with young people
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments
5. Good behaviour management skills
6. Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) desirable but not essential
7. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
8. Two professional references
