Nominate your top supply teacher

The search is on to find PK Education’s Supply Teachers of the Year 2017
It is important that we recognise the importance of supply teachers and the role they play in our education system; and we are doing just that once again with our popular Supply Teacher of the Year Awards 2017, returning for the third year running.

Supply teachers are playing an increasingly important role in schools across the country. That’s why PK Education, wants to recognise the supply teachers across the Midlands and the North of England who have been outstanding in their profession over the last year.

We want schools and the staff who work in them, to tell us which supply teachers go above and beyond. Nominations are now open and will close on Friday 28 April 2017. You can nominate here.

Following the nomination process, our team will shortlist three teachers from each of PK Education’s offices: Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham and Newcastle. The shortlist will then go to a vote and the public will decide who wins the prestigious Supply Teacher of the Year title for each area (North East, South Yorkshire, East Midlands and West Midlands). Voting will open on Monday 1 May and close on Sunday 4 June.

The winners will be announced and celebrated on National Supply Teacher Week (12-16 June 2017 – exact date TBC). Each award winning supply teacher receives a stunning glass trophy and a £50 gift voucher.

Discussing the awards, Lee Carpenter, Director of PK Education said: “We are delighted to be able to continue with what has become an important opportunity to recognise the hard work of our supply teachers for a third year. Supply teachers don’t get enough credit and recognition for the role they play in schools across the UK and these awards play a small but important role in acknowledging their contribution. It’s also a very public way for PK to say a big thank you for everyone’s hard work and dedication.

“It was a pleasure to see how delighted the winners were last year. So please, if you do think that a supply teacher has gone above and beyond in their role over the last year, nominate them for our awards. Even if they don’t win, it’s always good to see their hard work has been recognised.”

If you are a school or fellow teacher and want to nominate your top PK supply teacher, please get in touch with us here with the name of the teacher and reasons as to why you think they deserve the recognition and award.
