PK Pathway is for people with real-world experience who would be a strong fit in schools but may not have considered education before.

We regularly support people from backgrounds such as:

You don’t need classroom experience to apply.
You don’t need a teaching qualification to start.

Training Provided by PK Education

Before you start working in a school, PK Education provides a comprehensive programme of training to help you work safely, confidently, and professionally.

This includes a range of core and role-specific courses, such as:

• Safeguarding & Child Protection Training
• Prevent Duty Certification
• FGM Awareness Training
• Teaching Assistant Level 2 Training
• SEND Certification
• Classroom behaviour, routines, and expectations

And many more courses designed to help you feel confident, prepared, and supported in your first role.

All training is designed specifically for people new to education, not experienced teachers, and focuses on real classroom expectations.

Support From Partner Schools

We only place PK Pathway candidates into partner schools that understand the programme and actively support it.

These schools:

• Know you are new to education
• Understand the training you have completed
• Provide guidance during your first days
• Set clear expectations for your role

You are supported by the school and by PK Education at the same time.

The Roles You'll Start In

Depending on your experience and confidence, PK Pathway roles include:

• Cover Supervisor
• Learning Support Assistant
• SEN / Classroom Support roles

You may:

• Support students in lessons
• Work 1:1 or in small groups
• Supervise classes using pre-prepared work
• Support pupils with additional needs

You will not be planning lessons or marking work.
